Who we are

Tree-Volution is a tree surgery business owned and run by James Goldring, based at 5 St. Saviour Close, Colchester, CO4 0PW. You can reach us on 07737 169724 or at info@tree-volution.co.uk. We are the data controller for any personal information you give us.

What we collect

When you submit our quote form we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the service you are enquiring about and anything you write in the message box. If you call or email us, we hold whatever contact details you give us on that call or in that email.

We may also collect basic technical information through our website host, such as pages visited and general location, used only to understand how the site is performing.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and arrange a free site visit.
• To prepare and send you a written quote.
• To carry out and invoice work you have agreed to.
• To keep records of work completed, as any business must.

Our lawful basis is your consent when you contact us, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the business. We do not sell your details to anyone and we do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.

Who sees it

Your enquiry is handled by James Goldring and, where relevant to the job, the crew attending. We use third-party services to host the website and to receive and store enquiry messages; those providers process the information on our instruction only. We may share details with an accountant or with the council where a Tree Preservation Order application is submitted on your behalf.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as they are useful for following up. Records relating to completed work and invoices are kept for as long as required for tax and insurance purposes.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@tree-volution.co.uk and we will deal with it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
