Conifer and leylandii hedges
Conifers grow fast and can quickly become tall screens. Because they generally do not regrow from bare wood, we reduce them carefully and stay within the green growth where possible. If a hedge has gone too far to recover, we will tell you and talk through removal and replacement options, including new planting, fencing or landscaping.

Getting the shape right
A good hedge is slightly narrower at the top than at the base. That shape, sometimes called a batter, lets light reach the lower branches so the hedge stays thick right down to the ground. Hedges cut straight up, or wider at the top, gradually go bare and open at the bottom. When we trim, we set the line and height carefully so the hedge looks sharp now and stays dense for years.
For long boundaries, keeping the height consistent from end to end is what makes a hedge look professionally cut.
